Buying Popping Boba Wholesale: A Checklist for Overseas Buyers
When comparing popping boba suppliers, flavor is only one part of the decision. Products can differ in pack weight, pearl size, formulation, surrounding liquid and packaging. A lower container price does not automatically mean a lower cost per serving.
This guide helps beverage businesses, distributors and importers prepare a purchasing brief. For the science behind bursting pearls and chewy jelly inclusions, see our article on hydrocolloid applications in popping boba.
Explain your business model first
Buyer | Information to share | Questions to resolve |
|---|---|---|
Beverage or dessert shop | Menu, portion size and monthly use | Flavor fit, pack usage and replenishment |
Distributor | Customer types, flavor range and first order | Case configuration, assortment and batch information |
Importer | Destination, quantity and delivery arrangements | Required documents, packaging and delivery responsibilities |
Private-label business | Label language, packaging concept and sales market | Feasibility, minimum quantities and approval process |
Standard wholesale supply and customized packaging may have different conditions. Ask separately about minimum orders, mixed-flavor arrangements and whether the sample represents the specification intended for the commercial order.
Test the sample in the finished product
Record the product name, lot details and receipt date. Then use the sample in the drink or dessert you plan to sell. Check handling damage, the bursting sensation, the effect of surrounding liquid on sweetness, and compatibility with the intended cup, straw or spoon.
Use the same portion and evaluation method for each candidate. If staff will portion the product before service, evaluate that workflow under the product’s specified handling conditions. A tasting trial does not establish shelf life. Overseas buyers should also record the condition of the sample’s shipping carton, seal and container on arrival.
Compare usable servings, not just container weight
Confirm whether the stated net weight includes surrounding liquid. Record whether your operation serves that liquid, drains it or uses a measured combination. Container net weight should not be treated as drained pearl weight.
For a practical comparison, divide the cost of the received batch by the number of usable portions measured with your own serving method. Identify which freight and destination costs are included in each quotation and which remain to be confirmed. Avoid comparing a product-only quotation with another offer that includes delivery.
Put delivery requirements in writing
Include the delivery country and city, proposed order quantity, preferred receiving date and whether you have a freight provider. Ask which product specifications and documents are available for the proposed order. Requirements depend on the product, packaging and destination, so the buyer and supplier should confirm the applicable documentation with their relevant service providers.
The quotation should identify the transport stages covered, who arranges them and which charges are separate. For a private-label project, add label artwork, pack specifications and approval steps before production. Discussing customization does not establish that every format or quantity is available.
Build a shortlist before requesting a quote
Review Miboba’s popping boba range and list your preferred flavors. If you also need a chewy starch-based topping, compare the separate tapioca pearl range. Bursting pearls and tapioca pearls have different serving and preparation requirements.
Wholesale carton configurations are listed below. Please confirm the available flavor and pack combination for each item.
Pack size | Quantity per carton |
|---|---|
3.2 kg | 4 tubs |
500 g | 18 bowls |
130 g | 80 cups |
50 g | 240 packs |
The minimum order for standard wholesale supply is one carton, with payment in advance. Please provide the requested flavors, pack size, number of cartons, and destination country or region so we can confirm availability and quote. Mixed assortments, freight, lead time, and trade terms are confirmed case by case.
A useful enquiry reads: “We operate a ___ in ___. We would like to evaluate ___ flavors. Our initial requirement is ___, with estimated monthly use of ___. Delivery is to ___. Please confirm current packaging, minimum order quantities, sample arrangements, lead time and the costs included in your quotation.”
Frequently asked sourcing questions
Does every flavor come in the same pack size? Confirm each item. One product’s packaging should not be assumed to apply to the full range.
Can we mix flavors or order private-label packaging? Send the proposed assortment, quantities and packaging requirements so feasibility and terms can be confirmed.
Is the destination country enough for a freight quotation? Include the city, quantity, receiving arrangements and required timing so the scope can be discussed accurately.
